Using Your Note to Followers
Are you interested in promoting your resources for FREE? I love it when I can do something for free! This FREE promotion is the Note to Followers found right on TPT.
I know you are wondering, "Is the Note to Followers on Teachers Pay Teachers worth using?" YES!!
Some TPT sellers say it isn't because they never look at them. I used to think that way as well. Then I decided to give it a try again. I became a believer in using them.
Here's why:
When I started this experiment a few years ago I sent out a Note to my 1000+ followers (at that time) and over 50 followers clicked on the download link I provided. That was over 50 people who continued to interact with me. Buyers who aren't sellers don't always act like seller-buyers. Many of them do open those notes, so send them out!
It's FREE promotion going directly to people who have clicked on the green star to follow your store. Okay some of them may be following you because of a giveaway or something, but maybe you'll hook them in with your fabulous notes. Don't miss the opportunity to use something for free.

Part 1: Get Started with Your Note to Followers
✓ You can access your Note to Followers from the drop down menu or the Marketing tab on your dashboard.
Part 2: What to Send
The Note to Followers is a great way to connect with your audience whether you have an email list or not.
Ideas on What to Send:
1️⃣ Send them something free.
✓ Provide an exclusive freebie as a "thank you" without any strings attached.
✓ Use something like Google Drive or Dropbox to host any free resource you want to send them. Then provide a link to download in your Note.
2️⃣ Remind them of your new products, old products, and seasonal products.
3️⃣ Give them a tip or two that relates to your niche that can help them.
4️⃣ Invite them to join your email list - but don’t make the whole note about this. I add it in at the bottom.
5️⃣ Let them know about Sales you are throwing.
6️⃣ Remind them to leave feedback to earn credits.
7️⃣ Send them a survey. This can help you see what types of products they want & need.
Part 3: Include Images in Your Note
You can add images to your note. These can be images that you upload or you can click on the far right icon & choose products. For images I upload I add my linked text below the image just in cast the image link doesn’t work. I don’t if I use the Embed Resources icon.
1️⃣ Images added from a URL
✓ Click on the image icon in the toolbar and insert the URL in the pop-up box
✓ If you want to use an image with a URL, here are some options for hosting your images:
copy from your newsletter (like MailChimp, ConvertKit, etc) and everything copies over (images and hyperlinks) You may need to right click on the image in your newsletter and do “copy image address” for it to show up now. I had to with ConvertKit.
use an image already on TPT - right-click on the image and choose "copy image address".
2️⃣ Upload an Image from your computer, FB, IG, or Google Drive.
✓ You can link the image by adding a URL in the second box. This way if someone clicks on the image it will take them to that URL.
✓ You can also resize your image in the height & width boxes or do the resizing after it is inserted.
3️⃣ You can easily add products to your Note to Followers.
✓ When you are adding resources, you can now use the Embed Resources icon to insert up to 4 resources.
✓ Click on the “Embed Resources” icon. Choose up to 4 resources by clicking on “Add to Note”. Then click “Add Resources”.
✓ If you want more than 4, then just choose the Embed icon again.
Part 4: Use Hyperlinks
✓ You can link any text. Highlight the text you want to link. Click on the chain link image in the toolbar. In the first box you should see the text you are linking. Insert the URL in the second box.
✓ If you want to track the number of clicks, use a UTM code created on TPT or a bit.ly link.
UTM codes are great if directing them to something on TPT. Other link shorteners can be used if you are directing them off of TPT like to your blog post.
UTM codes are created on TPT from Dashboard>Traffic. Scroll to the bottom and click on URL Builder. Fill out the form that pops up and click to get your UTM code. Copy the code and use it for the URL.

✓ If you use the Embed Resource icon, it will automatically create UTM codes.
Part 5: Sending Notes Out
You can send out a note every 7 days. Note to Followers can be sent to a draft, schedule, or sent.
1️⃣ Draft
✓ If you want to type part of your Note and come back to it later, no problem. Just click on the Finish Later button.
✓ When you’re ready to finish it, go to your Drafts area, open it up, and finish it.
2️⃣ Schedule
✓ You can write your Notes ahead of time and schedule them to be sent on a selected day in the future.
✓ Click the Preview & Schedule button. Then click the Schedule button. Choose your date, and click on Schedule Send.
3️⃣ Send
✓ You can send your Note the same day as you write it.
✓ Click the Preview & Schedule button. Then click Send.

Keep your Note to Followers short. They should only take about 15 minutes to write.
